What Are Orthobiologics?
Orthobiologics are biologic treatments derived from your own tissues that may enhance the body's natural healing environment.
Rather than masking pain, these treatments utilize naturally occurring cells, growth factors, and signaling molecules that participate in tissue repair. When combined with appropriate rehabilitation and activity modification, orthobiologics may improve healing and reduce symptoms in carefully selected patients.

Regenerative Treatment Options
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is created by concentrating platelets from a small sample of your own blood. Platelets naturally contain numerous growth factors that play an important role in tissue healing.
PRP has been studied extensively for chronic tendon injuries, selected ligament injuries, muscle injuries, and mild to moderate osteoarthritis. For appropriate patients, PRP may help support tissue repair while decreasing inflammation within damaged tissues.
Whenever possible, PRP injections are performed under ultrasound guidance to maximize treatment accuracy.
Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC)
Bone marrow aspirate concentrate is obtained through a minimally invasive aspiration procedure from the pelvis. After processing, the concentrate contains platelets, biologically active cells, cytokines, and signaling molecules involved in tissue repair.
BMAC may be considered for selected cartilage injuries, tendon disorders, early degenerative joint disease, difficult-to-heal injuries, and biologic augmentation during certain orthopedic procedures.
Treatment recommendations are individualized according to the patient's diagnosis and the current scientific literature.
Adipose-Derived Cellular Therapy
Adipose tissue contains a variety of naturally occurring regenerative cells and signaling molecules that contribute to tissue repair.
Through a minimally invasive harvesting procedure, adipose tissue can be processed into a concentrated biologic preparation for carefully selected orthopedic conditions.

Which biologic treatment is right for me?

Will regenerative medicine replace surgery?

Are these procedures safe?
